A busy Day
I here that the busier the day the better you manage time and the more you get done. I think today might have been one of those days. Sebastien awoke EARLY this morning. He's sick so we gave him some Motrin, a bottle of milk, and tossed him back to bed at four in the morning (we tried his sleeping with us, but it was like trying to sleep with Snufalufagus). At six he was bellowing, so Mihai went down to put him back to sleep. And rock him. And rock him. And rock him. Sebastien slept and snored and sweated till nine. So french toast for breakfast and then we were out the door for a walk. We called Faith and Mike (our friends and neighbors) to see if they wanted to have lunch with us at Urban BBQ and we agreed to meet in an hour. And we walked. and walked. and walked. We passed by a plastic playset that was loaded up in the back of a trailer which looked like it was destined for the trash. In a move Faith and Ann should be proud of, I went and asked if we could have it. We live just 1/2 block from a playground, but I have been eyeing a plastic play set for Sebastien. How could I pass up the possibility of a free set? The men were clearing out a house after renters had left. They also had an electric car and some garden tools to get rid of. We walked back home. Mihai picked up the car, we all went back to the house, picked up the playset an edger and a weed wacker and off we went. After lunch Mihai got every thing together and working. And now we have a nicely mowed lawn with a playset in it for Sebastien. It has already been played on. All in all a great and productive day. We then went to the baby store to buy a gate to keep Sebastien out of the cat food. He loves splashing in the cats water bowl and picking up her dry food and accidently dumping it on the ground, and then trying to refill it. We have found various things in the recycling bins, that we did not intend to put there. And the trials go on. He also likes to play with the cans of cat food. They are perfect sized for a little boys hand and easy to stack. I am sad to take those away from him, but.....After bed time I headed off to work to set up some fish and NOW I AM BLOGGING! Can you believe it? Fortunately, the day has worn me out, so I won't be repeating this endeavor any time soon. Some pictures of our loot.

Not his best picture, but... enjoying his playset. He crawled up the slide and slid down head first (oh well on both counts) many many times. Sebastien is doing things I didn't think I would let him do, but I have discovered he has a very strong will. And most days I am just trying to get us both through the day. I hope another day I will teach him the right way to go up and down slides.
The next picture is the scene I encountered one day thirty minutes into "nap time". I believe this was the day that he was actually sitting up in bed reading a book that he had some how pulled off the wall pockets... He did eventually nap.

That would be everything that was in the crib on the floor, with a few extra books & pages thrown in for good measure.
