Ready to Climb Mountains
Sebastien is on the move! Movies will follow one day. He pulled himself up and over the cushion, we believe to get to the cat's bowl. But perhaps he just wanted to get to the other side.
Many new things have been going on in Sebi's life. We is army crawling. working on crawling on his hands and knees, and just the other night he sat himself up. Unfortunately he choose to do this while i was trying to put him to bed. I did eventually prevail. however, the next morning i awaken to sebi's 'gentle' FEED ME cries, on my way down it suddenly got quite, and when i got to his crib, he was sitting up all proud of himself. In response to his advances in motor skills, mihai has decided now would be the time to lower his crib mattress. he does not mind being lower to the ground.
This past tuesday I gave sebastien his first food. Rice Cereal. We had been talking about starting him on solids (exclusively breast feeding a 22lb baby is almost more than i can keep up with.) It was a tad bit improtu, but he was game to get food in any format. i do have to admit i think he wears more than he eats, but i don't have to clean up afterwards!
a later meal:
'Turtle soup, please. Super-sized.'
last weekend we took sebi to the playground to play on the swings and slide. i dont' know what he thought of it, but he does love smiling at his parents as they make the stupidiest sounds and faces. i never thought i would be able to coo to a child, but i find myself doing anythnig for a smile and a laugh. Earlier in the morning i had 'lost' my baby. i put him on the living room floor with a cushion wall to block long forrays into the hosue. I went off to put away his clothing (made challenging by the sock monster that LOVES baby socks). When i came back to the living i could not find my baby! my first thought was who stole my baby?! he was between the side table and the crib looking out the window. I rushed outside to take pictures, which got mihai out of bed and down the stairs to make sure everything was alright.
Sorry for the long bouts between posts.
Goodnight
