Baby Shower & Belly
I have been wanting a blog for a while. And with five weeks, plus or minus, till our lives Change I decided now was a good time to figure out how this works so that I can keep family and friends up to date, and have a place to post pictures.
Our baby shower was last Saturday, oganized by Aurora, Ann, Cheryl, and Faith (thanks again). To get into the spirit Mihai and I made a T-shirt for me to wear and put hand temporary tatoos on my belly (see pic) We got lots of Stuff, our friends were very generous and the baby will be kept well dressed, entertained, and diapered thanks to all the presents we were given. Aurora organized the games. The first being blind fold each parent and make them dress a baby (in this case a stuffed frog with a Very Large Head). Mihai took over five minutes, dropped/juggled "the baby" a few times, and managed to swaddle her backwards (Thanks to Adam for teaching us how to swaddle). He is putting in to practise the premise that if he does a chore badly once, he may never be asked to do it again. We'll see. The next game was guess the belly. (My sibs had gathered the week before and we snapped this pic). One person guessed my brother as being one of the two pregnant bellies (Way to go Mikey!).
Cheryl and Ann made us a diaper cake, which included your standard baby stuff: hair brussh, nail clipper, wash clothers, pacifiers, and bottles filled with Color Sorted M & M's (thanks to OCD Ann). Attached to the cake were three special items intended for Mihai: poppy seeds (to put in boiling milk in the hope of releasing some soothing opiates), whiskey (to ease pain: the baby from teething, the husband from baby & mother?), and a roll of duct ("the perfect baby sitter"). Stay tuned to see how these pan out.
The last picture is for my friend Beth. A belly picture from maybe four weeks ago, taken while I was making crib bedding, with help from the cat. Having a cat sleeping on the instructions really makes the process a whole lot easier!
